Development
Only part of the cost of educating our
children is met through tuition. Increasing fundraising and gifts
can minimize tuition increases. The continuing challenge is to find
activities that are the least labor-intensive for the amount of
income generated and are supportive of our image and philosophy.
Fundraisers
Annual fundraisers organized by parents and other volunteers include
the Halloween/Harvest Festival, the Winter Craft Faire, and the
Silent Auction in the spring. These events draw support from outside
our school community, which helps boost enrollment for the school
and raise awareness of Waldorf education in general. New fundraising
ideas are constantly being explored and welcomed. If you have ideas
for projects, please contact a member of the Fundraising Committee.
The Annual Giving Campaign
"We have much more power than perhaps we realize to direct
our financial resources in ways that support, empower, and express
what we believe in. It takes courage to direct the flow, but with
each choice we invest in the world as we envision it." - Lynne
Twist
Gifts to Annual Giving Campaign support
our school and aid in the development of our programs that tuition
alone cannot meet. A gift given in freedom is one of the most profound
statements of support of the greater social goals of Waldorf Education.
We ask that every family contribute to the Annual Giving Campaign
(in whatever amount possible). One hundred percent participation
in this effort by the families directly involved in our school provides
a strong spiritual base for our fundraising efforts with those outside
of our school community.
Arizona Waldorf Scholarship Foundation
- Arizona State Tax Credit
The Arizona Waldorf Scholarship Foundation is supported through
the State of Arizona authorized Tax Credit Program (Arizona Tax
Code Section 43-1087), which allows those who pay state income tax
to redirect up to $500 (for individual filers) or $1000 (if married
and filing jointly) directly to qualified schools.
As a non-governmental primary or secondary
school located in Arizona, Tucson Waldorf School is a qualified
school. A check of up to $500 (for individual filers) or $1000 (if
married and filing jointly) written directly to AWSF can be credited
toward your total Arizona State tax liability - provided that you
pay at least as much in state tax. You will also receive an additional
Federal Tax Deduction for this contribution. Specific questions
regarding the Tax Credit may be addressed to Margery Bates, or our
Treasurer, Grant Anderson.
Because our scholarship program depends
almost entirely on this money, we ask that every family participate
to the full extent possible and encourage friends and family members
to do the same. |
