Our principal annual fundraiser FRESH! is a beautiful spring evening featuring a farm-to-table feast prepared and served by parent volunteers, locally crafted beer, wine and dancing. This years food theme is Indian – you don’t want to miss it! Bid on specialty themed class baskets and cap the evening off with dancing.  It’s a night of joyful celebration, candlelight and laughter under the stars. And don’t forget about the photo booth, complete with silly props. Check out a few favorites from last year.


Auction Benefit

The success of last years event is due in large part to the auction which brought in over $10,000! The items included were a destination trip to Hawaii, a wine country tour,  a spa day, jewelry, handmade dolls, one-of-a-kind artwork, and specialty themed baskets brimming with one-of-a-kind experiences and unique treasures from our community. This is a great time to enjoy the company and bid on items.



To make this another successful event, WE NEED YOU!  The auction committee will be creating baskets to be auctioned during the night of FRESH, but different this year, we are asking families to contribute donated items/services that fit into any of our suggested themes rather than a “class basket”. Themes and ideas can be found here. However, if a class would like to do their own basket that is more than welcome. Remember, businesses allot a certain amount each year in donations and charitable giving. All it takes is asking! Keep donation forms and receipts in your car to hand out to local shops and businesses you frequent.

Many grandparents and alumni families take part, and it is a great way to demonstrate your generosity (and promote your business!). We warmly welcome the unique opportunities you can offer. Such donations could include a stay in your vacation home, a chocolate and wine tasting, sporting / concert tickets, private music or dance lessons, or special outings to places you love. If you are interested in donating a unique item, or feel you would be able to complement another class’s basket, the Development Office is more than happy to discuss this with you or brainstorm ideas. To make a donation, please contact the office.

Donations should be received no later than March 17th, 2017 to be included in the auction. TWS is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We also ask merchants in the Tucson community to make donations. If you have a relationship with a shop, restaurant, or service provider, we will be happy to provide you with donation forms and help in any way. Sponsoring this event allows you to achieve broad visibility among a community of creative individuals, businesses, and organizations. Sponsorship benefits include promotion at the event and online via email blasts and weekly communications, social media, and website.

fresh atmosphereThis type of fundraising event is truly an “all hands on deck” community effort. We need help with a number of jobs before, during, and after the event. These include:

  • Class basket support in each class
  • Ticket sales at pick-up
  • Check-In/Check-Out Support
  • Set-Up and Clean-up
  • Food servers
  • Auction management (set up, during event, and post event)
  • Volunteer management before, during, and after
