Early Childhood Programs

A letter from the Early Childhood Faculty Chair
Welcome to the early childhood education programs at the Tucson Waldorf School. In the first 7 years of life, a child grows and develops more than in any other period. We support a strong foundation of social, physical and artistic development though our rhythmical and seasonal curriculum. These instrumental years are the gateway for the child as they begin to unfold their capacities and their love of life and learning.
When I first discovered Waldorf Education many years ago, I was drawn to the underlying principles of the pedagogy, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children and their parents. You are warmly invited to learn more about our programs by visiting us in person and taking a tour with our Enrollment Director, Rebecca Briamonte. We look forward to meeting you and your children.
- Nicole Williams, ‘Red Rose’ Kindergarten teacher
“The task of the kindergarten teacher is to adjust the work taken from daily life so that it becomes suitable for the children’s play activities. The whole point is to give young children the opportunity to imitate, to imitate life in a pure and wholesome way.”
-Rudolf Steiner, April, 1923
