Originally from Oregon, Ms. Ursula graduated from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. She received her Waldorf teacher training from Sunbridge College in New York, and also attended the first Lifeways class in 2000. She was attracted to Waldorf education because of its warm and developmentally supportive approach to education. Her teaching experience began 23 years ago when she worked as a Nursery teacher. In 2009, Ms. Ursula took on the lead teacher position as the director of the Quail’s Nest parent-child program, and in fall of 2017 was hired as lead Nursery teacher for the Sunflower Garden. In Fall of 2021 she rejoined TWS faculty as the director of the Quail’s Nest program after taking a year during the pandemic to support her own children in their schooling. For several years, Ursula also operated a home-based Waldorf program for young children. In cooperation with the Craft Circle, Miss Ursula has also led doll-making workshops in past years. She has one child who attends Tucson Waldorf School and two children who are TWS graduates. In addition to teaching, Miss Ursula enjoys crafting, being with her family, and her many pets. She feels lucky to be a part of this community both as a teacher and a parent.
