David Sussman

After fifteen years as a class teacher at Tucson Waldorf School, David Sussman returns in a new role, bringing his deep experience, heartfelt dedication, and strong connection to the community to his work as Enrollment Director. He is thrilled to begin this new chapter, continuing a family tradition alongside his wife, Bayla Sussman, current 4th grade class teacher, and their son, Jonah, a new 1st grader.

A Tucson native, David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona. His journey into Waldorf education began during his time as an AmeriCorps volunteer in a life-sharing community for adults with developmental disabilities in rural New York. Inspired by this experience, he went on to earn a Master’s in Education and a Waldorf Teacher Certification from Antioch University New England.

David has been a committed member of the Tucson Waldorf School faculty since 2010. He looks forward to welcoming new families into this vibrant and nurturing community he has long called home.
