“We have much more power than perhaps we realize to direct our financial resources in ways that support, empower, and express what we believe in. It takes courage to direct the flow, but with each choice we invest in the world as we envision it.” – Lynne Twist
In 2016 our family moved to Tucson from Hawai’i, where our boys had spent their childhoods searching for gnome treasures and having historical events shared through puppet shows and beautiful story telling at a local Waldorf School. There were many challenges for us in starting anew in Tucson, however, TWS made the transition for our children seamless. The transition for us was smoothed as well, as we felt the familiarity of the Waldorf community, the camaraderie of coming together in service to the community through work parties, bake sales, preparing for festivals and fundraisers and of course the joys of participating in all of the community events together “There are different people around me but I am so comfortable here that it’s like I am still at home,” said our then 10 year old after his first week at TWS. And home we were.
As I write this, my children are both attending University High School and, when asked by others about what I noticed through their transition from the foundation of their Waldorf education into a new school system, the first thing I say is that, compared to so many children that I see, their love for learning drives them forward.
It goes without saying that we need a community to ensure that the TWS experience, which is truly more than an education, is possible for future children and families. Whether it is $1 or $1 million, what you give ensures faculty salaries, creative programming, campus improvements and more. It is through the gifts of contributors like you that we are able to sustain the development of our school culture and offer the unique TWS experience to our children and families.
By making your gift today, you are supporting teachers’ salaries; campus improvements and maintenance; remedial support; and specialty subjects like practical arts, gardening, movement, and language. Your generosity, and the strong will of an entire community, has an immediate impact and ensures that TWS continues to thrive for current and future generations.
All donations, regardless of amount, are received with heartfelt gratitude.
Every child matters. Every family matters. Every gift matters.
With Gratitude,
Hilary Moses, Board President Emeritus
Goals: $60,000 and 100% participation
Like all independent schools, Tucson Waldorf School relies on charitable giving to ensure our children continue to experience a life-affirming Waldorf Education in a well-tended and beautiful environment. Our financial strength is dependent upon the participation of all members of this community. 100% community participation is what we strive for and any size gift helps us reach our goal. Your participation generates enthusiasm and is a statement of solidarity for others. The percentage of participation by families, faculty/staff, and board members is a key indicator to corporate and foundation donors of the level of support from those we serve. All gifts to Tucson Waldorf School are tax-deductible.
