Aaron Doyle grew up in New Zealand. He remembers a happy childhood playing in the rocks and tidepools and lying in the warm sand. When he was nine his American family moved back to the States. They landed in Mount Shasta City, California where he was homeschooled for a time. The acclimatization to this new and different country was eased by his parent’s curriculum which focused on tree identification and reading books. The family moved to Eugene, Oregon where he graduated high school.
He continued his education at Boston University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Acting. After living in New York City for five years he moved to Washington D.C. and got a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting at American University. Mr. Doyle taught art at the university level for over 10 years mostly at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. It was there that he met his partner Julia and they had their son Oskar. It was in his search for a kindergarten for Oskar that he found Waldorf Education. He was searching for a developmentally appropriate environment for his son. It was a watershed moment in his life. He started his teacher training at the Micha-el Institute in Portland and completed his training at the Sound Circle Center in Seattle with internships at the Seattle Waldorf School. Mr. Doyle Joined the Tucson Waldorf School in 2019 picking up the class of 2023 in 5th grade. Aaron lives with Julia, Oskar, and their two cats Mr. Macaroni and Moon. Aaron, in his free time, loves to draw and paint.
