Leanne was born and raised in Tucson. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in General Engineering. After graduation she was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy. She traveled many places while being stationed in San Diego aboard the USS Cleveland (LPD 7) and the USS Antietam (CG 57), serving a deployment on each ship. After the Navy, she worked as a supervisor and continuous improvement engineer at Kraft Foods in Madison, Wisconsin. Leanne moved backed to Tucson at the end of 2012 to marry her now husband and began working as a manufacturing engineer at Raytheon, where she remained until the birth of her twin daughters (now 9) in 2016.
Leanne came to learn about Waldorf through Quail’s Nest and was amazed at how much more doable her life as a stay at home mom was when she incorporated rhythm, both for her daughters and herself. Later her family expanded with a baby boy (now 6). Waldorf continued to offer her family a grounding presence and a loving way to navigate the ups and downs of parenting.
Leanne began working at TWS as a substitute teacher and soon stepped into her role as an Assistant in Red Rose. Being part of a faculty and community that sees and cherishes the individuality of each child has filled her with gratitude and purpose. At home, she enjoys life with her wonderful husband, her three energetic children, and her sweet dog Penny. She is continually seeking joy and meaning in the everyday.
