An integral part of the curriculum
Grade Four recently took a field trip fifty miles south and one hundred fifty years back in time. The class visited the territorial school and presidio excavation in Tubac, Arizona as well as the ruins of the Franciscan mission church in Tumacacori. They spent the morning learning about one of the first towns in Arizona and tried their hand at a number of tools used to create and sustain the village. The children particularly enjoyed working together to turn the giant grain mill outside school house.
