Tucson Waldorf School is Seeking: Full-time Playgarden Nursery Assistant Teacher
Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated Full-time Early Childhood Assistant Teacher(s) to join our team for the ‘24-25 school year. The EC Assistant plays a pivotal role in the classroom, providing essential support to the lead teacher in various tasks, including organizing materials, food preparation, and ensuring the well-being of our young children.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in organizing classroom materials and activities.
- Aid in food preparation for students.
- Maintain a warm and balanced demeanor while interacting with children aged 2.5-6.
- Embrace and implement essential indications of Waldorf pedagogy.
- Occasionally assume the lead teacher role in the absence of the primary instructor, managing all tasks and activities effectively.
Requirements:
- Ability to maintain a warm and balanced demeanor while working with young children.
- Openness to learning and implementing Waldorf pedagogical principles.
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Capacity to be outside for long periods of time in all weather conditions
- Able to kneel, sit, and bend to the ground with ease throughout the day
- A minimum of two years experience in early childhood education is preferred.
Additional Information:
- This position is full-time and hourly.
