Em Bowen is an educator, writer, and doctoral candidate in the College of Education at the University of Arizona. Their research is centered on literacy, with emphasis on writing, and care practices. Em currently teaches pre-service teachers and is part of an initiative to re-establish the Tucson chapter of the National Writing Project. Their teaching experiences include being a former Grades teacher for Grade 4 and 5 as well as the Spanish and Middle School Support teacher at Tucson Waldorf School.
