Please Welcome Katherine Miller, Early Childhood Lead Teacher

Please welcome Katherine Miller as the new Early Childhood Lead Teacher for Sunflower Garden for the 2021-2022 school year. Katherine started with TWS in 2008 in parent-child classes with her son, Benjamin. She enjoyed the classes so much that in 2010 she started working for Tucson Waldorf School as a substitute teacher for Early Childhood, and has since also worked as a nursery assistant and extended day teacher.

She received her teacher training from Rudolph Steiner College, graduating in 2014 and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Human Development at Prescott College in 2020.Katherine loves Waldorf education because of how it “recognizes and matches the natural unfolding of the human being with the ultimate goal being to send forth our children in freedom.” She also loves Waldorf Early Childhood for the stories, and enjoys seeing how they work on and light up the children, watching them grow into their bodies, and their unaltered joy and enthusiasm.

Outside of school, she enjoys gardening, camping, and spending time with her son, Benjamin, who is now 13, and their two cats.
